Slip away to your private beach getaway!

It was high tide and an absolutely beautiful day in Carlsbad when these photos were taken (Oct. 17).

Terramar beach is gated, with keys for only the property owners and is complete with picnic areas, a fire pit, surfboard rack, shower, and a deck above the surf.  Stairs take you to the sand.  A neighbor told of her walks on the beach where she has seen octopus at play in the tide pools with miles of sand for exploring and relaxing. 

Plan a gathering for your family or get in on the annual neighborhood festivities of this treasured community by the Sea.

This development of beach homes was built in the 1950's at the peek of what we now call art deco.  The original owner preserved the flavor of the era with recently having the home professionally painted in wonderfully fun colors.   You might carry on the tradition or perhaps plan a two story remodel, as some neighbors have done, to capture the white-cap ocean views. 

The view from above the patio is calling out for at least a viewing deck over the palms. The owner's family is out of state and is now reluctantly selling the home with many happy memories of delightful days at the beach cottage.  It's not even two blocks to the gated, private beach access and now your turn to enjoy!
