"Finally made it up to appreciate the snow while it was happening instead of after it has melted a week later. The Subaru up S. Grade about 2:30 Saturday to find Crestline unplowed and ~ 4" of snow at our place. Put on our chains. Built a fire in the wood stove (Brian is getting good at starting the fire with a cold flue). The house made 67 degrees by 5 PM. Brilliant stars at 3 AM .This morning was beautiful, about 8" altogether. Baked bread, made stew. Shoveled snow for the first time in 30 years. This morning took a walk over to the ridge through the fresh snow before breakfast to enjoy the view…all the trees were glorious white. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. We love our place!!!" I find it interesting that the faster we go in our day to day lives, the more time we have to complain when something goes wrong, and the less time we have to say "thank you" or to point out when someone goes out of their way to help a neighbor…..hence this email. Diana Serry called me yesterday late afternoon, concerned about my being "okay" due to the gate to the 13 acres being open for several days. After a brief phone conversation, she and her husband Alan went down to make sure everything was okay on the property. Everything was. Someone had been on the property, but no apparent damage. My point being, HOW COOL IS THAT? My escrow closed 6 plus months ago, and my realtor calls to make sure everything is safe and secure. Talk about "service after the sale." I thought you should know the Diana exemplifies the Bonnie Phelps RE Max customer service standards……and then some…..but I'm sure you already know that. See you soon, Stephen George
"I recently helped my sister-in-law refinance her home. My husband is a VP at Warner Bros. and works very long hours. His words to me were "I can't help you so make sure you find someone you trust and feel comfortable with." As I began searching out loans I remember that I once worked with a man from Pacific Capital Mortgage. When I called I was informed that he was no longer there. I frankly was going to continue searching had it not been for the man on the other end of the phone… I am so very pleased with Nathan Phelps that I was compelled to write you. "I have been asking myself why I have been so committed to the 13 acres. I was on Palomar for a photography seminar and fell in love with the mountain. However, it became very clear that if I was going to have a place away from San Diego, I didn't want my neighbors to hear me "flush the toilet." Hence the 13 acres. When I got your email from the Mountain News about Dr. Starkey I realized something else. I think another attraction is the small community bond that exists on Palomar. I was born and raised in Pt. Loma. We had 40 kids on the block of 30 plus homes, and everyone knew everyone. I still own the house, and no one knows anyone. As in any small community, I realize there are pluses and minuses, and you don't just walk in and everyone accepts you. But your email tonight made me realize how much I miss that "small community" atmosphere. Diana has been an absolute dream to work with. You can only hope that all current and future agents have the attention to detail and communication skills that she has. There is a very small select group of friends that have seen everything that went on in this escrow process, with a "raised eyebrow" in the good sense. "They took notes" and were impressed. You are wonderful. I will never ever forget the split pea soup on that rainy day…..especially with you having other plans and friends showing up at the house. You and Diana became more than just another real estate agent. As in all things in life….it's the little things, which I have come to the conclusion, you have already figured out.
