A wood burning insert with a custom slate mantel heats this area of the home - a lovely blend of vintage and new. 

It is open to the kitchen where you just have to see the hand-made tile back splash with the 'Mountain Rose' motif.   

Those are hickory cabinets, and a dual oven, plus an electric range, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer and  a mounted microwave.
